Unusual Newfoundland Stories
By Otto Kelland
This is a collection of short stories and poems by the author of one of Newfoundland’s best-known songs “Let Me Fish off Cape St. Mary’s”. The Stories were previously published in 1986, and have been edited for this release. Several of the stories deal with experiences Mr. Kelland had in his early days as a seaman and later as a police officer. The rest are stories he heard over a period of many years. The poems are mostly of the humorous “tongue in cheek” variety, and are taken from his earlier book of poetry and song, Bow Waves.
